United States of Terrorism

At the southern border of the United States we have concentration camps. The bane of the Jewish peoples of Europe during the early 20th century has come back. Now let me be clear, these are not death camps. However, they are concentration camps and no less evil then the “internment camps” we imprisoned Japanese- American citizens following the attack on Pearl Harbor. The Trump administration and the Republican party are determined to spread hate and fear for the sake of staying in power. The treatment of prisoners in the camps at the border is inhumane and the attitude of border … Continue reading United States of Terrorism

My political stances:on language

I find it really important to be able to communicate effectively and be able to understand why certain people can’t actually get along. I prefer when people get along but when there is conflict I prefer to understand why this is happening. I despise people who lie to do what I consider evil things. I also prefer to be precise with my definitions but also have a tendency to not be, which is super confusing. I like the idea that things can be interconnected and this leaves me with a sense of awe and happiness. For instance, I believe economic … Continue reading My political stances:on language

My political stances pt 3

Economics: I believe that basic necessities should be available to everyone regardless of how much money they make. Capitalism is a corrosive system that treats people like mere objects and is immoral. I believe that everyone should have the agency to do work that they love and do other things as well. True freedom is when you are able to live your life the way you want to without having to do things that break your soul. I know that life isn’t always fair but I do think we have an opportunity to give everyone a higher standard of living … Continue reading My political stances pt 3

Crisis of masculinity

Is masculinity under attack? Are straight white men the last acceptable group to demonize? Both of these are fairly damning questions and are difficult to answer without some reframing and a long discussion. But let me attempt to answer one major problem that I see myself facing and probably other young men facing. I have difficulty making friends and reading body language and this has meant I have tended to be extremely literal. I often had difficulty understanding abstract concepts and how my behavior, body language, and words effected other people. I got caught up in my own head with … Continue reading Crisis of masculinity

Prospects for a better society

I felt very miffed when I heard about the arrest of Julian Assange from the Ecuadorian embassy. The disgusting persecution of journalists who divulge war crimes is something that makes me deeply uneasy. There are a lot of things that gets my anger flowing freely these days but none more than brazen lying. The idea that the United States is a democracy or even that we have human rights as one of our values, is enraging to me. How dare those of us who make it impossible for most of the world to live fulfilling lives say … Continue reading Prospects for a better society

Protecting Venezuela: Russia and China step up

It is no secret that the United States of America has a history of overthrowing democratically elected governments and replacing them with dictators who serve U.S interests. This colonial mentality is the mentality of Empire and is disgusting. The coup that is being done in Venezuela hasn’t been easy though, due to the support of enemies of the United States. China and Russia, both stepped up in order to parry United States interests in South America. Both have their interests to protect and it isn’t through altruism that they act. Russia is protecting their long term ally, and they are … Continue reading Protecting Venezuela: Russia and China step up

New Zealand terror attack

I learned this morning that 49 people were gunned down in a mosque in New Zealand by a right wing extremist. Of course, we are immediately told not to politicize this by the right wing extremists. I say fuck them with a plastic shiv. I know my language is harsh but I am seriously tired of the right wing being treated with kid gloves when they are actually killing people and ruining people’s lives. As much as they bitch and moan about how the left or the Marxists run everything, they have all the power and none of the intellectual … Continue reading New Zealand terror attack

Donkey Kong and Lefties

I am so jealous that Hbomberguy and Ash Sakar got to do an interview together. These two are some of favorite people and I admit I am super jealous they got to hang out. I feel these two people are important messengers for the message of the true left. Hbomberguy is one of the best Youtube personalities out there. I discovered him when I was starting to get sick and tired of the Sargon of Akkads and people who seemed to rant about social justice warriors too much. Even when I was a supporter of people like TJ Kirk (The … Continue reading Donkey Kong and Lefties

Hope and Hell

This is a rant that I gave a generic title to so that I might have the freedom to go on whatever tangents I feel I need to in this post. I feel that my writing flows better when I don’t try to organize too much and this is something I still am working on in regards to my dream of becoming a better writer. I believe my greatest weakness, writing wise, is that I rush and cannot channel my thoughts and ideas effectively. Here is a good example of this. When I was in middle school I went to … Continue reading Hope and Hell

A case for moral politics

When it comes to public policy, often there is a misunderstanding about what drives people to come to the polls. I think that the main reason it is so easy for the right to deceive so many people is that they intrinsically understand the psychology of their side. They also understand that morality trumps fact-based policy making. The ability to tell a good story, to sell your moral vision to your constituents, is the primary motivation for getting your side to turn out. The current Democratic Party in the United States gave up creating a moral vision and decided to … Continue reading A case for moral politics

Feminism is good for men too

Currently, the Supreme Court fiasco surrounding Brett Kavanaugh, an extremist GOP person who wants to be on the court, has tremendous implications for the future of the United States. Conservatives have always been very good at constantly be on the attack and have been primarily very successful by taking advantage of liberals who want to be open minded and logical. However, pure rationality and logic is not what drives politics. The Republican’s drive to crush everything the government does that they personally do not like, is emotional. It is folly to think otherwise. Rationality is nothing without morality which is … Continue reading Feminism is good for men too

Culture Wars???

Before I begin I would like to give a shout out to Benjamin Dixon and Anoa Changa who are both excellent voices in these tumultuous times. Both have inspired me and you should totally subscribe to their Youtube channels and podcasts.  Culture wars will have a different impact on you depending on your ideology. If you are right leaning it is a desperate fight to bring back American culture and religious life to what you imagine the 1950’s were like. For those who are more left it is a defense for all the hard fought civil rights earned for marginilized … Continue reading Culture Wars???
